Card Captor Sakura>> Story

Card Captor Sakura is the story of a nine-year-old girl (she's 11 in the 2nd movie and 13 at the end of the Manga) called Sakura, who one day hears strange noices coming from her study. These make her think there's a burglar in the house. Luckily for her, when she gets to the study there's nobody there, and she discovers in astonishment that the noices are coming from an imponent and old-looking book, on which cover she could read the name "The Clow".

Sakura opens "The Clow", and it turns out not to be a book, but a book-like-looking case, which contained a misterious deck of cards. When Sakura takes the first card and reads out loud the words written on it, "The Windy", a light wind storm begins inside the room, blowing all the other cards away and spreading them all around the town. Sakura stays sitting down on the floor, shocked and still holding "The Windy" card in her hand.

Just then, some sort of yellow teddy bear with a lion tail appears before Sakura. And as if this wasn't strange enough, this weird character starts talking to her. This is how Sakura finds out that this funny toy-like-looking animal is the guardian of the cards, the "Clow Cards", and he was therefore responsible of preventing them from getting lost. However, by falling asleep (and attracting Sakura's attention with his snoring), he had failed in achieving his goal.

The name of the little animal is "Cerberus" ("Kerberos"), and he explains to Sakura that now that the Clow Cards are on their own and outside the Clow Book they'll become alive and might hurt the people of Tomoeda (the town where Sakura lives). Kero-chan (this is what Sakura calles Kerberos) also warns Skura that if the Clow Cards are not gathered fast, a tragedy might fall over humanity, though he does not specify what sort of tragedy. For all these reasons, Kero names Sakura "Card Captor" and provides her with the key to open the Clow Book (The Key of the Seal), which turns into a magic wand that will allow Sakura to use the powers of the Clow Cards. Her mission will be to capture all the Clow Cards that have been spread around Tomoeda. To do this, she will count with the help of the magic of "The Windy", which is already in her power, and the magic of the cards she captures.

Throughout the episodes, many amusing characters are introduced to us. Like Tomoyo, Sakura's best friend, who, once she finds out that Sakura has magical powers and has become some sort of "super-heroine", promptly makes several outfits and suits for her friend to perform her appointed task with "style". We also meet Sakura's family: her father and brother, and Yukito, her brother's "best friend", who Sakura is in love with. Now, to finish this presentation of CCS, I will talk to you a little bit about another most charming character: Li Syaoran, a boy who is a descendant of Clow Reed's (the magician who created The Clow Cards, Kero and the Clow Book), that wants to collect the cards as well in order to become more powerful as a magician, so he will be in competition with Sakura.

So... that's mostly it, and I hope I've been concise... sometimes I find it hard to make summaries...
