Card Captor Sakura>> CCS vs CC
Actually, I've never watched Card Captors, so about its differences with CCS I only know what I've read in magazines... realiable magazines about Manga and Anime (I am not inventing stuff, don't worry... =P)
First of all, it would be fair to point out that where Card Captors was aired instead of Card Captor Sakura, the raitings of the series were much lower. I believe that's logical, since CLAMP is very talented group of artists, and CCS is more faithful to the manga. Anyway, CC is not so terribly opposite to the original Anime version either. The main difference is that many episodes were cut, modified and eliminated even, since the producers thought that Sakura as the main character wouldn't be as catchy as two main characters: Sakura & Syaoran. This is why CC starts with the episode in which Li Syaoran appears for the first time, which would be the 5th or 6th episode of CCS. Also, some scenes were re-animated so that there would be more action...
OK, so as I said, I have never watched CC, I've only watched CCS. However, I must be honest and say that I really don't like the idea of making so many changes to any animated series... specially when speaking of CLAMP, which has done many Manga series that are considered works of art, such as X or Clover to name some.
Besides, I think that some of these changes where not necessary. For example, Li Syaoran is a very important character in the original Anime series, whithout the modifications made in CC. So important is Syaoran in CCS, that the ending is all about the love story between him and Sakura (this is even more deeply developped in the manga). About the re-animated sequences, I sincerely believe that CCS is one of the most carefully and neatly animated series I've ever watched (not only from Japan, but also from other parts of the world), and the CLAMP girls were bugging the producers of the Anime series the whole time to assure a high-quality product (which they accomplished beautifully, I believe). I even think of these modifications as some sort of disrespect... but well, there's nothing I can do about it right?
Sorry if I got so emotional folkes, I don't mean to offend anybody who actually likes CC (this is not a rare thing, since after all, the main story is the same one-a very creative one- and the characters also-very lovable characters by the way). So I sincerely appologise if I have made anyone feel uneasy, but it just did not feel right to write about this topyc without expressing my true thoughts about it (anyway, I don't think I would have been able to do so, even if I'd wanted to... I'm pretty hot temperred actually ^^U)
