Air starts off with a young traveler, Yukito, looking for a mysterious winged girl who's supposed to be waiting for him, the only one with the power to free her and save her from the curse upon her. However, he doesn't know where to look for her... and he's not sure if he believes that old legend anyway... So he goes from town to town offering shows with his puppet, until one summer he arrives in this one town, where a strange girl, Misuzu, suddenly talks to him without any reason at all.
Air is wonderful, you simply fall in love with the characters. There's mystery, love, magic, comedy and drama (lot's of the last one). The animation is superb (though the character design a little weird) and the music... well that's my favorite part, it's outstanding! Watch out for the end though, it's really, really sad, and there's no way you're not crying, no matter how insensitive you think you are!
