Hijiri is Kano's older sister and the town doctor. As such, she is one of the very few that know of Misuzu's mysterious illness, the only one that knows of Kano's suicide tendencies and one of the few that know of Minagi's mother amnesia. She gives Yukito a job and wnds up being a huge help to understand the stories of the three characters mentioned above. Yukito turns to her for information whenever he feels she knows something that might help him figure out how to help the girls.
Hijiri is very responsible and has taken care of Kano since she was a little girl. She is very strong and somewhat moody, and always turns to science to explain the phanomena that go on in the town. However, this will not be possible for her in some cases...
